If you haven’t been there you couldn’t possibly imagine what it means to hear the words “You have cancer and we need to get that out of there” – If you have then you understand

I called my partner Divina, there was a silence when I told her yet I could hear sobs in the background the same response when I called my daughter, she, Julie is a dynamic solution orientated person, “OK” she says “what do we do about this”?  I spend the next few weeks on Google searching and researching bladder cancer awaiting the procedure that will remove the tumors and make me well again.

Well again?

The procedure was performed at Southlake Hospital, I was told it took around 90 minutes to remove all the tumors if you are wondering how they gained access, seriously don’t ask you’ve already probably figured it out. Waking up in a hospital bed later that day, I hear my daughter talking to the surgeon this is part of the conversation I hear…

“We got all the cancer blah, blah – we are doing a biopsy blah blah….. should be fine, no surprises, blah, blah blah…”

….. and back to sleep I go, thinking I don’t have cancer anymore
